Current International Research Group Projects

  1. Japan-Hawaii Foreign Investment Project. Japanese foreign investment played a huge role in Hawaii's economy from the 1970s to the early 1990s. This project summarizes the impact of earlier Japanese foreign investment on Hawaii, examines alternative types of future Japanese investment in Hawaii, and analyzes the prospects for successful investment flows in five key industries (health care, education, marine resources, sports, and tourism).
